SEPTEMBER 08: Be aware of the late summer flush of grass - laminitis.
AUGUST 08: Dont be too upset that August is here still have a few weeks of good weather - fingers crossed.
JULY 08: Dont work horses too long, take a nice day off it will do your horse/pony a treat
JUNE 08: If the weather is good, have fun with water !!
MAY 08: Dont forget to keep all your tack nice and clean it will save further injuries.
APRIL 08: Check out when all the local shows are on and mark down the date to enter through the summer months.
MARCH 08: At last we change the clocks, extra now to do a little grooming.
FEBRUARY 08: Keep up with the mucking out, winter is nearly over and spring is just around the corner.
JANUARY 08: Keep a regularly check on your horses/ponies legs for mud fever especially if fields are very wet!!
DECEMBER 07: Treat your horse / pony to a few treats for christmas
NOVEMBER 07: Renew riding club membership for 2008 year
OCTOBER 07: Have ready bedding and feed for winter
SEPTEMBER 07: Clean & disinfect stable ready for horse coming in at night
AUGUST 07: Wash and check winter rugs - outdoor and indoor
JULY 07: Order hay for winter season
JUNE 07: Use sun cream on the horses face to save getting burnt
MAY 07: Thank goodness for the rain - keep a shower proof rug handy as the days and evenings are a bit chilly!!
APRIL 07: Enjoy the lovely warm weather and the light evenings, take care when riding on the hard ground!!
MAR 07: Always remove your gloves when picking out the feet, no matter how cold the weather is.  Its an ideal time to feel for heat and swellings in the feet and legs.  SAM TAYLOR of Colchester, Essex   
FEB 07: Pull your horses mane straight after exercise when you horse is still warm, the hairs will come out more easily when the pores are open!SAM,  ESSEX
JAN 07: Cover your horses` legs in a thin film of baby oil before they are turned out or going Hunting, when you go to wash off the mud it will slide off nice and easy making the job much simpler or quicker to do!:    GEMMA, Wales
DEC 06When bandaging up the hoof due to an abscess use cheap nappies then vet wrap over it, it works out alot cheaper:  EMMA, Southampton
NOV 06As the weather gets colder check the rugs fit your horse correctly!!
OCT 06Make regular checks to your horse for early signs of mud fever!!
SEPT 06: Stables may need to be ready by now for the colder and wetter times ahead.
AUG 06Don't forget, by now you should have your hay in ready for the autumn.
JULY 06In the hot weather, don't forget to use Sun cream on the Pink areas and more is needed more around their muzzle.

JUNE 06: Make regular checks to your bridle and saddle due to it being used more this time of year. A wipe down with a damp cloth and a little soap will help to keep your tack clean.
